NEXT YEAR
Saturday 4 Sep 10 – Training Starts (TO BE CONFIRMED)

The U12 team play in the SABA League on Friday evening, 19 March, in Poole. I hope to confirm times asap. We will meet at the Hungry Horse car park as usual. I will need one other parent to drive – volunteers please. Players to confirm availability asp – first come first served! Thanks. Gavin ([email protected])

Just a reminder that on Saturday 13 March training for all groups will take place from 1200 to 1330 at BWS.

This is because the Spires are at home to Taunton Tigers in the National League. The match report from their last encounter is below. They would value some extremely vocal support so it would be great if you can stay to watch. They Tip-Off at 1400 and should be finished by 1530. See you there!

The Spires were in action again at the weekend travelling to the unique Sportsdome, home of the Taunton Tigers. A great start from the Spires saw them end the first period with an 8 point lead and going in at the half just 2 points down. Jack Parker, back from an injury that kept him out of the first half of the season had a great first half dominating the paint against much bigger opposition. Sadly though, after arguably the best half the Spires have played all season, they could not keep up with the pace and intensity that the National League demands. With Centre, Jamie Poulton fouling out in the 4th, the boys lost their composure after numerous shots failed to fall. Eventually the Spires fell to the Tigers 38 – 71. The Tigers travel to Salisbury on the 13th of March and the team has proved to themselves that the game is there for the taking if they can keep up the pace throughout. Hopefully the home court advantage and the thought of revenge may swing the game in their favour.

The U16 National League match due to take place on Sat 6 Mar 10 has been postponed and so training will go ahead at the NORMAL TIMES. ie 1200 Advanced, 1300 Intermediate, 1400 Beginners.

ALSO James Chubb has secured 20 FREE TICKETS for us to go and watch him play for Solent in Southampton this Sat, 6 Mar 10. Depart from BWS at 4pm – should be back by 9pm. E-mail / Text Gavin (07879-424381) to reserve your place. I will also need 2 or 3 other drivers to help with transport.
